What does the Bible say about Eating
Biblical Attitude Toward Eating?
Give Thanks: 1 Timothy 4:4–5 says everything God created is good if it is received with thanksgiving.
Do Not Gluttonize: Proverbs 23:2 warns against having a "too-eager appetite," encouraging self-control.
Honor God: 1 Corinthians 10:31 summarizes the principle: "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God".
In the midst of a busy and chaotic world, it can be difficult to find inner peace. However, through meditation, proper eating habits, mindfulness practices, and connecting with nature, it is possible to cultivate a sense of calm and tranquility.
New Testament Views
All Foods are Clean:
Mark 7:19 and Romans 14:14 indicate that no food is inherently spiritually unclean in the new covenant.
Personal Choice:
Romans 14:2–3 says that people can choose to eat meat or be vegetarian based on their personal faith and conscience.
Avoid Legalism:
Colossians 2:16–17 advises believers not to let others judge them regarding what they eat or drink.
Moderation
Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Proverbs 23:20-21
Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.
