From 1985 - 1988 "JB" Griffin was a Volunteer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Pasadena Adult Chapter Serving as President for 2 Years. The Pasadena FCA Adult Chapter hosted the Annual Rose Bowl Breakfast in Sierra Madre at Sierra Madre Congregrational Church every December above the Gym in the Social Events Hall where Basketball Legend a Christian Man of Faith Pete Maravich took his last breath in a pickup Basketball Game that included Focus on the Family Founder Jim Dobson and several others.
Speakers at our annual Breakfast from 1985-1988 Included Rodney Peete and Erik Affholter USC Football Players, Donn Moomaw. UCLA Football All American and Former Pastor at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, Ralph Drollinger UCLA Basketball Player who played for John Wooden and later founded Capital Ministries, Orel Hershiser, LA Dodgers 1988 MVP World Series Pitcher and Broadcaster.

Jerry my former neighbor in Sunset Beach graduated from Temple City HS in 1972. Jerry never lost a football game during his playing days as a star Running Back during his time playing HS Football for Temple City from his Sophomore through Senior Season. Temple City HS won Consecutive CIF Championships in Football from 1970-1974 ( The 1973 football team set the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section record for most consecutive wins, with 46. It also tied the California high school football state record at that time.
